Mr. Adam Risch

Mr. Risch began his tenure as Assistant Director of Bands at Mountain View High School in 2011. He took over as the Director of Bands in the summer of 2017. Mr. Risch received his Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education at Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota. While at Concordia he studied saxophone with Mr. Russell Peterson. Mr. Risch also holds a Master’s Degree in Saxophone Performance from Arizona State University in Tempe, Arizona where he studied with Dr. Timothy McAllister. Mr. Risch is an active member of the NAfME, as well as AMEA, ABODA. In the past he has served as the ABODA Vice-President of High School Jazz Activities for two terms and is currently serving in that position again for a one year term.

 

Mr. Steven Thuneman

Steven Thuneman Was born and raised in Anchorage, Alaska. He began teaching at Mountain View High School in 2018 as the Assistant Director of Bands. Mr. Thuneman received his Bachelors in Music Education from Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff Arizona where he studied trombone under David Vining. Mr. Thuneman has taught 4th-6th grade band and orchestra in the Washington Elementary School District at Cactus Wren Elementary School and Lakeview Elementary School. Mr. Thuneman is an active member of the Arizona Music Educators Association (AMEA), Arizona Band and Orchestra Directors Association (ABODA), and the National Association for Music Education (Nafme).
