The Toro Band requires financial support beyond what is provided by the school district, so the Band Boosters provide fundraising opportunities throughout the year for both overall operations and individual student travel accounts. Please support the fundraisers! Gold Canyon Candles This was our first fundraiser of the year, and many students made money for their travel accounts. Thanks to all who made this a success! Movie Night Why go to the theater when we could watch "From the 50 Yard Line" right here at Mountain View? Join us on September 13th to see this great movie, and 50% of the proceeds will benefit the Toro Band. After the movie, Arby's will sponsor a "restaurant night" with a portion of the sales coming back to the band. Cookie Dough Sales With the holiday baking season approaching, what could be more convenient than having pre-made cookie dough in the freezer? Cookie Dough sales run from September 15th -September 29th, with 45% of individual sales going to the student's travel account. Dieting doesn't start until January, so support your band students and order cookie dough today! ToroFest Homecoming Dinner
Outback Dinner and Silent Auction Please join us for our OUTBACK STEAKHOUSE DINNER and SILENT AUCTION on October 16th. Kim Harris, proprietor of Outback at Gilbert/McKellips, is donating a dinner to benefit student travel accounts. Tickets will be $25, with $15 going directly to the student's travel account. Encourage your student to sell tickets to family, friends, and neighbors, and keep an eye on www.toroband.org for information on ticket sales. The band's Silent Auction will help held simultaneously as the dinner, and great entertainment is planned! Corporate Sponsorship Do you know of someone who either owns or works in a local business that may want to contribute to the Mountain View Band? The band benefits from the donation, and the business has the benefits from donating to a 501c3. Contact Susan Stephensen for more information, at slstephensen@cox.net. ECA Tax Credit Community members, who have not already done so, are urged to support the Mountain View Toro Band through their donation of Extracurricular Tax Credits. (For more information please visit MPSAZ.org) Arizona's Extracurricular Tax Credits are structured such that a married couple may contribute up to $400 to the Marching Band, or a single person may contribute up to $200. This is only for Arizona taxpayers. Please use the online form at https://mpsaz.mytechsupport.com/eca/donations/make_donation.html. Select Mountain View High School in the school drop down box, and select Band 8122 as the activity.. This is a tax credit. You will be sent a form after your contribution is received, and the next time you file your taxes, you will get, dollar for dollar, your contribution back, if you do not owe any Arizona State income tax. If you do owe Arizona State income tax, you may deduct the full amount of your contribution as a tax credit. |
