The Toro Band requires financial support beyond what is provided by the school district, so the Band Boosters provide fundraising opportunities throughout the year for both overall operations and individual student travel accounts. Please support the fundraisers! Toro Band Fundraising Fiesta Cards From now through the last day of school in May, we are running a pledge drive called the Fundraising Fiesta. Each student in the band is responsible for completing one Fundraising Fiesta card. Details of the sale and the prize program are included in the directions which you can download here. You can download the Fundraising Fiesta pledge card here. If every student in the band turns in at least one completed card, our profit will be more than $25,000. If each student completed two cards, it would allow us to start a fund to purchase the band it's very own personalized trailer to move our equipment to festivals and away games. Just imagine that semi-truck going down the street with the Toro Band logo on it! Very exciting. This fundraiser ends on the last day of school, May 21, 2009. Serrano's Restaurant Night On Monday, April 20th we will have a Toro Band night at Serrano's Mexican Restaurant, located at Gilbert and McKellips in Mesa. You must bring the flyer which you can download here. You must eat between the hours of 4 and 9 p.m. to participate in this fundraiser. Hope to see you there! Toro Band Spring Fling and Chili Cook-Off Details are being finalized on this carnival-type event, which will take place on Saturday, May 2, 2009 in the evening. The event will be held in the Mountain View High School parking lot, and will feature chili-tasting and contests, food vendors, crafts, bouncers for the kids, a rock climbing wall, a dunk tank (with Mr. Burgener in it, of course), and carnival-type games. More details will be posted as soon as they are available. If you know anyone who would be interested in entering their homemade chili into the contest, please contact Mr. Burgener at (480) 472-7158 no later than April 30. Corporate Sponsorships The Toro Band Boosters Association is now recognized as a non-profit, 501(c)3 corporation. Donations to our boosters association can be claimed on your taxes. If you are interested in making a donation, please contact the band director, Mr. Burgener, at (480) 472-7158. Any and all donations are very much appreciated!ECA Tax Credit Community members, who have not already done so, are urged to support the Mountain View Toro Band through their donation of Extracurricular Tax Credits.
