Marching Band - MU81
The Mountain View Toro Marching Band is by far the most visible musical organization on the Mountain View campus. The marching band performs at all varsity football games. The band has been recognized with Superior and Excellent ratings for over 30 years at various festivals throughout Arizona. In 2002, the Toro Marching Band was proud to perform for President George W. Bush's visit to Phoenix. The band has has also performed in China, Ireland, and in New Orleans at the Sugar Bowl. No auditions are necessary for woodwind and brass players. However, students interested in joining the drumline will need to audition. Training sessions for the drumline occur in March and April of each year, followed by auditions in May. Included in the Marching Band is the Mountain View Color Guard, which provides the visual aspect of our halftime show using flags and other props. Auditions for the Color Guard typically occur in May of each year. No prior experience is necessary to try out for the Color Guard.
